Theme – Costly Discipleship
What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? What did Jesus mean when he said ‘If anyone would come after me (be my disciple) he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me’. Being a disciple of Jesus is not just something we do on Sunday or when we are ‘at church’ it affects every area of life. So what does it mean to live as a disciple of Jesus all the time – when we are at church – in the world – in our relationships with one another? Being a disciple of Jesus means following his example and learning from Him – so what can we learn from the example of Jesus about costly discipleship or sacrificial living? We will be exploring these vital issues in our teaching and discussion times together.
The weekend away will also be packed with the usual mix of games, good food, go-carting, singing and the family quiz. It is wonderful to have this opportunity to relax and enjoy great times of fellowship with each other.
