Theme – Focused Vision
72 people arrived on a gloriously balmy summer evening. God was to continue to shine his blessing on us for the weekend. After a fine meal it was down to work with the opening session, which was to set the scene for the remainder of our time, by exploring Encouraging one another, based on Hebrews 3, v12-19. Having pondered this overnight the Saturday started with a time of relaxation for some, and frantic activity for others with some competitive go-karting!! Further day visitors with us, we began the first of two sessions for the day. The young people had their own themes to explore. The adults started with looking at Discipleship, followed after lunch with a discussion on Evangelism, with the challenge being how could we improve ourselves in these areas. Having worked hard all day there was just time for a quick game of football before dinner, which the young ones enjoyed, whilst the slightly less than young ones suffered for their foolhardiness. The evening was given to a return to the ever popular talent show and what talent there was! Sunday morning saw the return to the discussion groups to consider how to Reach out to youth before we all met up for the morning worship. During the worship session, all of the groups, young and old outlined the points they had learned or discussed which will give the eldership some food for thought over the coming months. For those who were there it was a truly uplifting weekend of fellowship and devotion to God.
